The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-profi t organisation which aims to promote worldwide an approach to forests and plantations that protects the natural environment, that is useful for people (workers and the local populace) and that is valid in economic terms, in line with the principles of sustainable development set out at the Earth Summit in Rio.
The FSC has created a certifi cation system that allows end users to identify wood (and its derivates) that comes from responsibly managed forests. In this way, each of us, through the choices we make, can contribute to a future in which people live in harmony with nature. |
